Bansuri Professional Flute in G, 24.75in

Ther BANJIRA Bansuri Flute in G, a beautifully crafted instrument made from bamboo that embodies the rich musical heritage of India. Measuring approximately 24.5 to 25.5 inches in length, this Bansuri flute features a single-piece bamboo construction with seven finger holes and a mouthpiece similar to the western transverse flute.

Please note that since Bansuri flutes are handcrafted from bamboo, they may exhibit slight bending or deviations from perfect straightness. Additionally, the color of the strings may vary.

Playing the Bansuri involves covering the finger holes with the phalanxes of your fingers, allowing for the production of half notes, microtones, and accidentals. The dominant hand plays the lower three holes, while the upper holes are covered by the other hand. The optional seventh hole provides greater accuracy in the upper octaves and may be played when necessary.

Crafted from only the finest bamboo, this Bansuri flute is made from a specific type of bamboo called cinchor that grows exclusively in the interior forests of Assam. The bamboo is treated, dried, and stored for years until it is properly seasoned. Achieving the correct notes requires precise piercing of the bamboo with hot iron rods in specific positions along the length.

Please note: The required finger span for playing the Bansuri flute increases with its length. If you have smaller hands, you may not be able to reach all of the finger holes. Despite the potential for minor variations in tuning and bending, the Bansuri flute produces a truly beautiful sound and is a testament to the skilled craftsmanship of its makers.
